David Alaba’s future lies with Real Madrid, it assures us Sky. According to the German TV channel, the Bayern Munich defender has reached an agreement on a five-year contract with the current number two of LaLiga. In February, Alaba announced that he would be leaving Bayern after this season. He was already associated with Real at the time, but was also interested in Barcelona. A switch to Camp Nou is now ‘no option’ according to Sky.
Alaba’s five-year contract has not yet been signed, but it is expected to happen in the coming weeks. He would be the first major acquisition of the Royal for next season. A week after the press conference reported BILD that in addition to Real and Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain was also interested. The Austrian reportedly spoke with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the chairman and owner of PSG, and received a concrete offer from the club. Alaba has an expiring contract with Bayern and is therefore transfer-free. “I have decided to leave Bayern after this season to try something new,” the veteran told an official press moment in February. “It was by no means an easy decision. I walked thirteen at the club and owe a lot to Bayern Munich.” Bayern already pre-arranged the defender’s departure and took over Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.
