Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City are likely to be kicked out of the Champions League immediately due to their involvement in the creation of a breakaway Super League. “I expect that”, UEFA board member and chairman of the Danish football association Jesper Möller told the Danish broadcaster. DR.

On Friday, the executive committee will meet to discuss the arrival of the Super League. “I expect the twelve clubs to be banned on Friday,” said Möller, who foresees huge consequences. “I expect that player contracts will automatically expire when clubs are banned from the European Football Association. Then the players will be free of transfer and can choose to play for a club that is part of our system of solidarity and community.”

Möiller emphasizes that UEFA will intervene directly in the current Champions League season. “The clubs are going out, and I expect that will happen on Friday, and then we have to see how we can finish the Champions League,” said the Dane, calling the thoughts behind the Super League concept both greedy and selfish.

Earlier in the day, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin also announced sanctions against the Super League. “For these clubs it is not about solidarity, no, it is about one thing: money,” said the Slovenian driver. “The players who will participate in the Super League will be banned from the World Cup and the European Championship. They will not be able to play for their national team.”
