Robert Lewandowski is on his way back to Bayern Munich. The Polish top scorer has appeared on the training ground of the German superpower for the first time since his knee injury, sustained last month in the World Cup qualifying match with Andorra (3-0 win). However, the second meeting with Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter finals of the Champions League, on Tuesday evening in Paris, is still too early for Lewandowski.

The 32-year-old attacker from Bayern completed an individual running training in snowy Munich on Monday morning. It was the first time that Lewandowski was back on the field after his retirement from the national team of Poland. The veteran did score against Andorra, but that was overshadowed by the injury to the knee. The attacker strained the tires in his right knee and is not expected to be available again for trainer Hansi Flick until the end of April. It is not yet known in which match Lewandowski can make his comeback.

Lewandowski was in a crazy season in the Bayern shirt before his knee injury. The top scorer came to the remarkable number of 35 goals in 25 Bundesliga appearances, while he managed to find the net 5 times in 6 Champions League matches. Without Lewandowski, Bayern lost 2-3 against PSG in a spectacular encounter last week. His replacement Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting signed for the tying goal and Thomas Müller tied the score, but in the final phase Kylian Mbappé turned out to be the executioner of der Rekordmeister with his second hit of the evening.
