Johan Derksen understands that Ryan Babel invariably belongs to the selection of the Dutch national team, despite the fact that the Galatasaray attacker rarely has a base place in the Dutch. The analyst of Veronica Inside would therefore find it incomprehensible if national coach Frank de Boer includes the now 34-year-old Babel in May in the final selection of the Netherlands for this summer’s European Championship.
“If Babel comes along, that is a disqualification of the national coach if he takes it with him”, Derksen gives a harsh judgment about the experienced winger in Turkish service. “There are ten players who are functional if you take them with you or they can get used to the level or they are just demonstrably better than Babel.
