SC Cambuur did excellent business in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. The team of trainer Henk de Jong recovered from the defeat that was against Roda JC Kerkrade on Sunday by winning big at FC Volendam: 0-3. Cambuur retains an eight point lead over number two Almere City and therefore has excellent papers for the championship. Furthermore, Young Ajax played a draw against NAC Breda, partly due to a missed penalty and a missed big chance by Naci Ünüvar. That means an extremely expensive loss of points for NAC, which could have taken second place if it won, but now remains fourth.

FC Volendam – SC Cambuur 0-3
Both teams kept each other in balance for the first fifteen minutes, until Robert Mühren gave Cambuur the lead in the eighteenth minute. Michael Breij was reached on the back line and his low cross was typed in by Mühren: 0-1. After Issa Kallon had missed a huge chance for the second, Breij made it 0-2 in the 27th minute. The midfielder shot from a distance and was lucky that Joey Roggeveen let the ball pass under him in a fairly incomprehensible way.

Cambuur also had the better of the game after the break. There were opportunities for Mees Hoedemakers and Mühren, who both encountered Roggeveen. On the other side, FC Volendam had the bad luck that a nice free kick by Derry John Murkin hit the post. In the eightieth minute, Cambuur finally closed the game. Mühren put the ball with a heel behind his standing leg beautifully wide for Breij, who finished it from close range: 0-3.

Jong Ajax – NAC Breda 1-1
By far the most possession in the first half was for Young Ajax, which, like NAC, barely succeeded in creating great opportunities. On the stroke of half time, the reserves from Amsterdam were given a penalty, when Sontje Hansen was treated illegally by Ramon Hendriks and Lewis Fiorini. The penalty kick was killed by Naci Ünüvar, who hit goalkeeper Nick Olij on his way.

Nine minutes after the break, NAC also received a penalty, when Moreno Rutten was tapped lightly from behind by Hansen. From eleven meters, Mounir El Allouchi shot the ball in: 0-1. A few minutes later, the broken Hansen met Olij, but in the 68th minute it was still hit for Young Ajax. A cross from Alex Mendez was touched by Rutten and so fortunately fell over Olij: 1-1. It was not the evening of Ünüvar, who saw a promising attempt taken off the line in the final phase.

Telstar – Jong FC Utrecht 2-3
The visitors from Utrecht had an excellent start in Velsen-Zuid. Remco Balk broke the spell in the eighth minute. The attacking midfielder took a measured pass very well and then signed controlled for his first goal in the service of the Domstedelingen since his switch from FC Groningen to Utrecht. Within fifteen minutes the scoreboard showed 0-2. Jeredy Hilterman curled the ball from the edge of the penalty area into the intersection. Another five minutes later, Glynor Plet brought the tension back. Ten minutes after the break, Odysseus Velanas brought the margin back to two by striking in a promising position. The tension returned in minute 62 due to a slider from Gyliano van Velzen. Young FC Utrecht held their ground in the last half hour and left the field with three points.

Helmond Sport – Young AZ 2-0
The promises of AZ, two weeks ago still too strong for Young Ajax, were not able to cope with Helmond Sport on Friday evening, which is moving to ninth place in the Kitchen Champion Division thanks to the home win. The start could not have been worse for Young AZ. The home team opened the score in the second minute in the person of Lance Duijvestijn. In the remainder of the first half, the Alkmaarders were given the necessary opportunities. However, good opportunities were not spent on Mohamed Taabouni and Fedde de Jong, among others. Shortly before half-time, the latter player left a very large opportunity unused. Young AZ got the lid on the nose after more than an hour of play, when Jelle Goselink extended the lead for the middle engine. In the final phase of the meeting in the Lavans Stadium, there was no change in the position.
