The family of Ángel Di María fell victim to a burglary in Paris on Sunday evening. The wife and children of the Argentinian attacker were surprised by several robbers in the evenings during the Ligue 1 game between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Nantes (1-2). The French top club has now confirmed the burglary. According to RMC Sport, based on PSG sources, the break-in was “very violent.”

In the 58th minute coach Mauricio Pochettino turned to the stands, where technical director Leonardo told something. The trainer then went for a few seconds to the catacombs, where Leonardo was presumably also disappeared from the stands. Not much later, Di María was replaced and he immediately left the stadium in tears. The news of a suspected burglary in the Di Maria house seeped through not much later and angered Leonardo, French media write.

French media claim that Di María’s wife and children were at home at the time of the break-in and were even held hostage for a short time. The Argentine’s tears are also very explainable for another important reason. During his time at Manchester United, his family was already the victim of a burglary and everyone involved was left with considerable trauma. In addition to sporting reasons, the Di María family also had a second reason to soon leave England behind and move to France.

Di María is reportedly not the only PSG player to be the victim of a break-in on Sunday evening. According to the latest reports, the parents of Marquinhos would also have had burglars visiting their son’s house. In the past eighteen months, Sergio Rico, Thiago Silva and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, among others, have had to deal with unwanted visits to their home.

More soon.
