Hans Kraay junior thinks Joël Drommel is a good goalkeeper for PSV, but does not understand the negotiating strategy of the Eindhoven team. On Friday it was announced that PSV has personally agreed with the FC Twente goalkeeper, but is still negotiating with the Tukkers about the transfer fee. “Joël Drommel is a good goalkeeper, but I think it’s a bad move by the Eindhoven club”, says Kraay junior at ESPN.
According to Football International no problems are expected in the negotiations between PSV and FC Twente. It is expected that both clubs will end up with a transfer fee of 3.5 million euros. Nevertheless, Kraay junior had approached it differently. “My father always said, and he has also worked at Ajax and PSV: it is unbelievably bad when you as a club say that you are around with a player,” said the analyst. “That means that Twente can now start asking what they want. Because if you are around with a player, you will not let it go any longer.”
Kraay junior thinks Drommel is good enough. “Of course he can handle the level, because he is better than Yvon Mvogo, but he is not three or four million euros better than Lars Unnerstall. I think Unnerstall is a very good goalkeeper.” The latter will make a transfer-free transfer from PSV to FC Twente in the summer. “Drommel was a line keeper, but he is also coming out. He still makes a mistake now and then, but is a very good keeper.”
It is still unclear whether Mvogo, who in principle has been hired from Leipzig for two seasons, will still be active at PSV next season. The German top club has the option to cancel the rental period in the summer. “I do hope Drommel is sure that Mvogo is leaving. I wouldn’t want to compete with Mvogo. I’m sure Drommel is better than Mvogo, but I would like to know that he is going, because he is Roger Schmidt’s showpiece. . ” Kraay junior thinks Mvogo is leaving. “I think they can also let him go back after one year. And I can assume that Joël Drommel asked about that.”
