Erwin van de Looi has announced his 36-man pre-selection for the Dutch Juniors for the European Championship in Hungary and Slovenia. For the Ajax talents Brian Brobbey and Devyne Rensch it is the first time that they are part of the provisional selection. On March 15, Van de Looi will announce his final selection for the European final tournament, which starts later this month.

National coach Frank de Boer announced his pre-selection for the Dutch national team on Sunday evening. He says in a press release that he has taken into account the European Championship of the Dutch Juniors when compiling his selection. “For the development of young players, it is good to play matches at a final tournament. For that reason, I have not included a number of boys in our preliminary selection, so that they can experience the European Championship with Jong Oranje ”, said the elected lord. “Of course the first team is always leading, but where possible we naturally want to take other teams into account.”

UEFA has divided the format of the European Championship into two parts. The group stage will be completed from 24 to 31 March. The final round is scheduled from May 31 to June 6. The European Football Association has chosen this format because of the consequences of the corona crisis and the postponement of the European Championship 2020 to the summer of this year. The Dutch Juniors are divided into a group with Romania (March 24), Germany (March 27) and Hungary (March 30). If the Van de Looi team qualifies for the final round, the elected lord may compose a new European Championship selection prior to this.
