Hobie Verhulst and Mo Taabouni are missing from the scoresheet for AZ’s match against ADO Den Haag on Sunday evening. Two new corona infections were found within the group of players at AZ on Sunday. This brings the total of ‘positive’ players to fifteen. Based on the match record, it seems to be about Verhulst and Taabouni. The Alkmaarders rely on the privacy law.

The starting team of Arne Slot has still largely been spared. The only basic player who tested positive is Myron Boadu. Timo Letschert is also a potential basic player, just like Jordy Clasie and Ron Vlaar, but the last two were not available in recent weeks due to injuries.

Despite the many absentees, AZ did win the first group match against Napoli in the Europa League on Thursday (0-1). The club from Alkmaar adheres to the regulations. “AZ has carefully followed the applicable procedures in recent months. The majority of the positively tested players show no complaints. Because infections were detected during the selection, AZ took preventive action,” the club reported earlier today.

It is not known whether the affected players show symptoms of the virus. AZ also announced that one of the infected players has taken a negative test. He can also be used for the match against ADO, which continues despite the large amount of positive tests (kick-off at 8 p.m.).

Setup AZ: Bizot; Sugawara, Hatzidiakos, Martins Indi, Wijndal; Midtsjø, De Wit, Koopmeiners; Stengs, Gudmundsson, Karlsson.
