Santiago Arias will continue his career at Bayer Leverkusen, the German club reports through official channels. The Colombian right back exchanges Atlético Madrid on a rental basis die Werkself. The deal between the two clubs includes a mandatory purchase option, among others Sky Deutschland and the Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Arias, who passed the medical examination without any problems, is associated with Leverkusen until mid-2025. The club of trainer Peter Bosz will transfer ten million euros to Madrid next year, it sounds in various foreign media.

The 28-year-old Arias was also recently mentioned at Paris Saint-Germain, AS Roma and the Everton van Director of Football Marcel Brands. Ultimately, the choice fell on Bayer Leverkusen. The fullback had to put up with Atlético Kieran Trippier and Sime Vrsaljko for himself, so a departure seems to be the best solution. Arias’ commitment to Atlético, which paid 11 million euros to PSV in mid-2018, continued for three more seasons. His debut in the German service may follow on Saturday in the game with RB Leipzig at home.

After Patrik Schick and Lennart Grill, Arias is Bayer Leverkusen’s third addition for this season. The former PSV defender played for Sporting Portugal earlier in his career. Bosz, on the other hand, said goodbye to Kai Havertz and Kevin Volland, who previously left this transfer period to Chelsea and AS Monaco respectively.
