Diego Godín is already leaving Internazionale after a year, reports both Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio. The 34-year-old defender has reached an agreement in principle with Cagliari, where he will sign for three seasons. Inter uses the released salary of Godín to attract Arturo Vidal of Barcelona.

Internazionale does not receive a transfer fee for Godín and even pays the Uruguayan a severance payment. At this moment the last details of Godín’s transfer are being worked out. This will put an end to the adventure of the man in Milan after fourteen months. Godín invariably had a base place at Inter in the last phase of last season and came to a total of 36 official duels for the club, in which he scored 2 times.

The transfer from Godín to Cagliari offers Internazionale the financial space for the definitive acquisition of Vidal. The Milanese already reached an agreement with Barcelona, which according to RAC1 will receive 500,000 euros for the 33-year-old midfielder. Di Marzio reports that Vidal and Inter will meet on Saturday to clinch the transition.

At the Giuseppe Meazza, Vidal will be reunited with trainer Antonio Conte, with whom he worked at Juventus between 2011 and 2015. The 115-time Chilean international is for the time being the second victim of the renovation that started under Barcelona trainer Ronald Koeman. Earlier, Ivan Rakitic left for Seville for one and a half million euros, while Luis Suárez and Nélson Semedo, among others, are also on the nomination to leave the Camp Nou.
