THE Chilli Boys just need a victory to secure their status as a club in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) for next season.

However, they tackle the forerunner, Kaizer Chiefs, next.

Chippa drew 1-1 in their previous match against Stellenbosch FC.

It’s thanks to Thokozani Sekotlong’s equalizer in the dying moments.

Knocked

Unfortunately for the Bay Area team, the point was not enough and relegation remains a threat.

That’s after Baroka FC, who are under Chippa on the standings, beat Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 at the weekend. Sundowns have as many points as Chiefs, but are in second place.

The Chilli Boys do look fitter with every game. According to their fitness instructor, Cariston Diedericks, they are now oiled to tackle the struggling Amakhosi tomorrow at Orlando Stadium.

Diedericks says: “After four games, everyone already has a good level of fitness and we have no injuries, so I think the team is in a good position to tackle Chiefs.

“Our goal is to escape relegation. So, even though we play against a dangerous team, it’s more about what we need.

“Chiefs have their own worries, so we do not worry too much about them in our preparation.”

Diedericks says all the players worked very hard to get ready for the bio-bubble.

Focus

He says: “The bubble has been feeling for a while, but I have to say I think every player handled the bubble well.

“There are only two matches left and we still need a victory. Everyone knows what is expected and we focus on safety. ”

After Chiefs, the Chilli Boys must also tackle Golden Arrows in their final game.

It happens Saturday at Orlando Stadium.
