Ivory Coast soccer legend Yaya Toure could soon play for former Bafana Bafana manager Stuart Baxter’s team in India.

The 66-year-old Baxter is currently coaching the Odisha team in the Indian Super League (ISL).

Touré has been without a club since leaving Chinese League One team Qingdao Huanghai in January.

There is now a possibility that the 37-year-old Touré will continue his career with Baxter in the ISL – a move that no one really expected.

Interest

The Times of India reports that several clubs in the ISL have received a document from the Harcus Consultancy Group, Touré’s representatives in Asia.

The document makes it clear that any club has the opportunity to obtain the player’s services.

Due to the financial implications of the corona virus pandemic, the initial correspondence did not attract much interest.

A second document indicates that Touré is prepared to take a pay cut of two thirds should any club want to buy his services.

Touré still expects an annual salary of at least $ 500,000 should there be interest in his services.

Who knows, maybe he’s picked up by Baxter’s Odisha team.
