ARSENAL have made clear their intention for the coming season by acquiring the services of Brazilian player Willian.

The former Cheslea player was picked up by the Gunners on a three-year contract.

Willian, 32, joined the Gunners as a free agent after his contract with the Blues expired.

The Blues did offer the experienced Willian a new contract, but it was nowhere near what Arsenal put on the table.

It’s definitely a bitter pill for Chelsea, especially since Willian is now moving to one of his London rivals.

According to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Willian will definitely add value to the Gunners’ bid for success in the new season.

“I believe he is a player who can make a difference for us,” Arteta explained.

“We have a clear intention to strengthen our midfield and wings. Willian is also a very versatile player and can play in three or four positions.

“On top of that, he has the necessary experience. I am very impressed with the conversations I had with him. “
