Internazionale are preparing a final contract offer to keep Marcelo Brozovic on board. The midfielder is considered a key player in Simone Inzaghi’s team, but his contract expires after this season. Attempts by Inter to sign Brozovic have not yet yielded the desired result. According to calciomercato there is still a difference between supply and demand, but the parties are approaching each other.

Brozovic has opened up to talks with the club management in recent weeks. He has been allowed to negotiate with interested clubs since the start of the new calendar year, but is currently only speaking with Inter as far as is known. It is reported that Brozovic has submitted a salary wish of seven million euros per season to the club management. Inter’s ‘take-it-or-leave-it offer’ will be an annual salary of 6.5 million euros, which partly consists of bonuses that are ‘easy to achieve’.

In order to increase the potential total salary, contractual bonuses can be added based on sporting achievements that are more difficult to achieve. Inter have no plans to make another offer after this, so the ball is in Brozovic’s court. The 29-year-old Croat broke with his agent Miroslav Bicanic in April. Since then, he represents himself in the negotiations, although Brozovic is assisted by his father and a lawyer close to the family.

This season, Brozovic has started in all nineteen league games and six Champions League appearances for Inter. The controller came over from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2015 and has since played 267 official games for Inter, scoring 26 goals and 35 assists. Of the current selection, only goalkeeper Samir Handanovic was on the field more often on behalf of Inter (414 times).
