12,000 spectators are present at the group matches of the Dutch national team at the upcoming European Championship. The KNVB has taken this decision after intensive consultation with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the municipality of Amsterdam. All group matches of the Dutch will be played in the Johan Cruijff ArenA in June. Depending on the developments of the corona virus, the number of visitors can even increase.

The Dutch national team will compete in the group stage against Ukraine (June 13), Austria (June 17) and North Macedonia (June 21). In addition, a match in the eighth final (June 26) of the European Championship in Amsterdam will also be played. A maximum of 12,000 spectators are also welcome in the Johan Cruijff ArenA during that game. However, should the situation surrounding the corona virus deteriorate in the next two months, the number of allowed supporters will be reduced, it sounds.

The European Championship, which was postponed by a year last year due to the corona crisis, will be played in twelve countries this summer, with Amsterdam as one of the playing cities. Obviously this Wednesday it had to be indicated at UEFA whether an audience can be present at the European Championship matches. Chairman Aleksander Ceferin recently announced that empty stadiums are not an option in his opinion. In the scenario that has now been submitted to UEFA, the starting point is that the Johan Cruijff ArenA will be occupied for 25 percent during the European Championship.
