Barcelona is involved in the battle for sixteen-year-old Brazilian talent Endrick. Xavi leaves opposite the Brazilian branch of ESPN already know to have spoken with the father and the attacker of Palmeiras himself. “Hopefully he will become one of our players,” said Xavi.

Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Chelsea, among others, are expressly interested in the services of Palmeiras’ top talent. Although, due to regulations, he cannot leave for Europe until 2024, when he is eighteen. “We have spoken to his father and also directly to the player himself,” Xavi confirms Barcelona’s interest in Endrick ESPN. “I explained to him what project we have at Barcelona. We want talent and he is a talent that can make a difference. He is goal oriented, can dribble and is the type of player we need.”

Xavi knows that the final decision rests with Endrick himself. “We are in talks. Hopefully he will become one of our players. It depends on him. It always depends on the player. Normally a player plays where he wants to play. So it is a very personal decision for Endrick,” concludes Xavi. Douglas, Endrick’s father, recently spoke to the Brazilian media about the great interest there is from European superpowers. “Nothing has been decided yet with Real Madrid or any club. We will tie the knot in the coming months. The club that is willing to pay what Palmeiras wants and offers Endrick the best project will sign my son.”

Endrick was exactly sixteen years, two months and sixteen days old when he made his debut with national champion Palmeiras last month. He is now already on six games in the Brazilian Serie A, in which he was good for three goals and one assist. Despite his age, Endrick has been known for years as one of Brazil’s greatest talents. In the four youth international matches he played for Brazil Under 17, the goalkeeper scored five times.
