West Ham United will do everything they can to prevent more fans of Eintracht Frankfurt from being in the stadium than allowed on Thursday evening. Two weeks ago, supporters of the German club created bizarre scenes by taking their seats en masse in the home stands in the away game against Barcelona (2-3). If West Ham implements the announced restrictions, such scenes will not take place on Thursday. The club has taken several measures to prevent an invasion.

Before, during and after the quarterfinals of the Europa League between Barcelona and Eintracht, it was mainly about the at least 20,000 Eintracht fans who were in the Camp Nou. The German club even spoke on Twitter about 30,000 accompanying supporters. The streets of Barcelona were graced by masses of German fans dressed in white. The supporters of Barcelona denounced the situation and protested en masse against the negligence of their own club. For the duel with West Ham, Eintracht has been allocated 5,000 cards. However, it is expected that many more German fans will travel to London.

To prevent the London Stadium of West Ham from being taken over en masse by fans of Eintracht, the club has taken various measures. Supporters of the Hammers who resell their season ticket to Germans are banned from the stadium for the rest of the season. In addition, German fans spotted on the home squares will be immediately removed from the stadium. Frankfurt chairman Peter Fischer is not pleased with the announced measures and has lashed out at the club from the Premier League.

“There is no greater nonsense”, he said at ZDF† “It is shameful for the sport that we are under threat. Wherever we go, like in the past Milan and Rome, thousands of supporters always travel after us. For us it has become normal. There will be enough Frankfurters.” Frankfurt and West Ham will compete for a place in the final on Thursday from 9 p.m. The return in the Deutsche Bank Park is scheduled for a week later. Serdar Gözübüyük has to steer the first game in the right direction.
