Union Berlin hopes to surprise soon with the arrival of Isco. This is reported by the German branch of Sky Sports. The thirty-year-old midfielder has been free on a transfer since December, after his contract with Sevilla was terminated. Union will take on Ajax in the intermediate round of the Europa League on 16 and 23 February.

Rumor has it that Union is planning something no one expects in the Bundesliga skyreporter and transfer expert Florian Plettenberg Friday. “However, it is unclear so far whether Union really approached Isco directly or through an intermediary.” Still, Plettenberg and colleague Marc Behrenbeck suspect that a switch from Isco to Berlin will be unlikely.

After playing for Valencia and Málaga, Isco made the move to Real Madrid in 2013. He was under contract with that club for no less than nine seasons. Of the Royal the 38-time Spanish international achieved great successes. In total, Isco won nineteen prizes during his time in Madrid, including five Champions League titles, three national titles and a Copa del Rey.

In the summer of 2022, Isco made the transfer to Sevilla on a free transfer, where he signed a two-year contract. However, the collaboration was not successful: in December, the former Golden Boy (2012) had his contract terminated with the current number fifteen of LaLiga. The reason for that break would have been the dismissal of trainer Julen Lopetegui and a quarrel with technical director Monchi. In total, Isco made nineteen appearances for Sevilla, in which he scored one goal and three assists.
