Tottenham Hotspur takes into account a summer departure of Hugo Lloris and is therefore looking for a new keeper behind the scenes. According to the Daily Mail to have the Spurs the arrows aimed at Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. He will be Tottenham’s first choice on a departure from Lloris, whose contract expires in the summer of 2022. If the club does not want to see the 34-year-old keeper walk out for free, he must be sold after this season.

Lloris has been the first goalkeeper at Tottenham for years and now seems to be in his last months in London. According to various English and French media, Paris Saint-Germain wants to recruit him next summer. The closing post itself would not be unwilling to return to France either. At PSG he would be reunited in the Parc des Princes with Mauricio Pochettino, among whom he already played at Tottenham.

28-year-old Pope is reportedly in the picture to succeed Lloris at Tottenham. He could be collected from Burnley for an amount of approximately 35 million euros. West Ham United would also have a crush on him. Pope made the move from Charlton Athletic to Burnley in 2016. He has since developed himself into one of the league’s better and most consistent goalkeepers.

His good performances in the Premier League have also seen him play in the England national team, competing with Jordan Pickford and Dean Henderson for a spot between the posts on the team of coach Gareth Southgate. Pope is a four-time international and will be with Burnley until the summer of 2023. His contract includes an option for another year.
