Mangala signed a lucrative six-year contract in Manchester with the belief that he would become a starter and with the Citizens conquered the Champions League. Very good intentions that, however, did not bear fruit in reality. His adventure in England, where he played 64 games, ended after only two seasons. Then he was loaned to Valencia.
