Paris Saint-Germain booked a simple victory in the Ligue 1 on Sunday evening. At home, the team of coach Mauricio Pochettino was far too strong for Stade Reims: 4-0. Sergio Ramos also made his first goal in the shirt of les Parisiens. Earlier in the day, AS Monaco lost 3-2 in and against Montpellier, while OGC Nice won 0-2 on a visit to FC Metz. PSG remains the leader with 53 points; Nice follows in second place with 42 points. The Monegasques occupy seventh position in France.

Paris Saint Germain – Stade Reims 4-0
Georginio Wijnaldum was absent from the Parisians due to an ankle injury, while Xavi Simons had to settle for a place on the bench. Lionel Messi, who recovered from the corona virus, was part of the selection, although he also started as a substitute. At Stade Reims, Azor Matusiwa was the basic player at the kick-off. Although it took until the 44th minute of play for the scoring to open, it was an easy night for PSG. Marco Verratti got the opening goal behind his name. Mauro Icardi saw his shot nipped in the bud, but from the rebound the Italian midfielder found the bottom left corner: 1-0.

Over the course of the second act, the Parisian field dominance was also reflected on the scoreboard. Ramos made it 2-0 after a carom for the enemy goal. It was his first goal in the PSG shirt. With Messi now within the lines, the French capitals soon moved further away from Stade Reims. An own goal by Wout Faes made it 3-0, while Danilo determined the final score fifteen minutes before time on a pass from Kylian Mbappé: 4-0. In the final phase, Icardi also thought to put his name on the scoreboard. However, the goal of the Argentine striker was disallowed for offside.

Montpellier – AS Monaco 3-2
The Monegasques had to compete against Montpellier without Myron Boadu, who was missing due to an injury. Within fifteen minutes, the team of trainer Philippe Clement was already looking behind, when Elye Wahi hit with a diagonal shot: 1-0. The striker then also had an important part in the 2-0. Wahi gave in to Stephy Mavididi, who shot the ball impeccably against the ropes from the edge of the penalty area. Monaco was not immediately knocked off the field, because the connection goal was quickly a fact via a striking header from Wissam Ben-Yedder. After the break, the visitors went on the hunt for the equalizer and in the final phase were eventually paid for their work. Vanderson was served by Ruben Aguilar and then completed the ball nicely from the turn in: 2-2. The game seemed to end in a draw, but in injury time Mavididi Montpellier gave Montpellier the full loot after a great individual action by Nicolas Cozza: 3-2.

FC Metz – OGC Nice 0-2
The visitors, where Calvin Stengs and Pablo Rosario were assigned a starting place, scored the first serious opportunity of the match five minutes before half-time, when Amine Gouiri saw his shot just past the right post. After an hour of play, however, it was a hit for Nice. Gouiri served Kheprem Thuram, who hit the target in two instances. 0-1. Gouiri seemed to crown his strong performance with a goal fifteen minutes before the end, but had to see how his goal was canceled after VAR intervention due to offside. The striker was finally able to cheer five minutes before the end, after referee Amaury Delerue put the ball on the spot after a violation by Vincent Pajot. Goalkeeper Marc-Aurele Caillard still got a hand against Gouiri’s penalty, although it turned out not to be enough to prevent the striker’s 0-2.
