FK Bodø/Glimt and FC Copenhagen have done well in their first legs in the Champions League play-offs. Norwegian Bodø/Glimt was 1-0 too strong for Dinamo Zagreb at home with a goal from Amahl Pellegrino just before half-time, while FC Copenhagen beat Trabzonspor 2-1. Viktor Claesson, Lukas Lerager and Anastasios Bakasetas scored the goals in the Danish capital. The returns of both matches are scheduled for next Wednesday evening, after which the winners qualify for the group stage of the million-dollar ball.

FC Bodø/Glimt – Dinamo Zagreb 1-0
Norwegian Bodø/Glimt stunted last season in the Conference League by reaching the quarter-finals, and as national champion of Norway can now even dream of Champions League football. In its own Aspmyra Stadium, it received Croatian national champion Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday evening. The Norwegians dominated in the first half and took the lead just under ten minutes before half-time, when Pellegrino headed in a cross from Joel Mvuka from close range. Twenty minutes before the end, Dinamo Zagreb seemed to be level, but Bruno Petkovic’s goal was disallowed for offside. Bodø/Glimt didn’t run into problems after that, so it travels to Croatia next week with a lead.

FC Copenhagen – Trabzonspor 2-1
At FC Copenhagen there was a starting place for right back Kevin Diks, while compatriot Stefano Denswil was in the heart of the defense at Trabzonspor. The Danes took the lead after nine minutes: Rasmus Valk found Claesson in the penalty area, after which the left winger slid in the opening goal. Copenhagen also had a dream start in the second half, when Denis Vavro headed through a corner and Lerager was ready at the far post to double the score. Ten minutes before the end, Bakasetas was responsible for the connecting goal with a changed long shot, but that was it for the Turks.
