Ron Jans starts with few surprises in his line-up for the first leg against Serbian FK Cukaricki. The FC Twente trainer has not made many changes to the formations with which he started in the last practice matches against Schalke 04 (3-1 win) and Bologna (4-1 win). Twente will play in De Grolsch Veste on Thursday evening for a good starting position. In doing so, the tuckers do it in Belgrade without the injured Wout Brama.

As expected, goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall will be under the bar at the Partizan Stadium on Thursday evening. The German closing post gained a competitor with the experienced Przemyslaw Tyton, but is still preferred by Jans. In the back, Joshua Brenet, who eventually extended his contract with Twente this summer, starts at right back. Mees Hilgers and Julio Pleguezuelo form the central duo, while Gijs Smal has to defend the left wing.

In midfield, the Feyenoord coveted Ramiz Zerrouki and Michal Sadílek will have to control the game. The 35-year-old Brama again suffered an injury during the preparation. This time on his groin, which means he won’t be there for several weeks. On Thursday evening Michel Vlap will play on 10, who is preferred over Sem Steijn, among others. Both attacking midfielders came to Enschede this summer. Vlap already played on a rental basis for Twente last season and was definitively taken over from RSC Anderlecht this summer for two million euros.

In the front, Twente plays with Ricky van Wolfswinkel in the point. The refined striker was on target for Twente last season. Van Wolfswinkel scored seventeen goals in 35 official games. In addition, he was important as a point of contact with eight assists. Van Wolfswinkel is flanked by Daan Rots and Virgil Misidjan. Rock is preferred to Vaclav Cerný tonight. He scored the opening goal in the friendly match against Bologna.

On the couch, Jans still has plenty of flavors left in Belgrade. Twente was able to strengthen itself well in width this season. If things are not going well in the back, the trainer can always choose to bring Robin Pröpper or Anass Salah-Eddine. With Steijn, Cerný, Christos Tzolis and Manfred Ugalde, Jans also has offensive substitutions at his disposal. The match starts Thursday evening at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on RTL 7
