Julian Rijkhoff has helped Borussia Dortmund Under 19s make a strong start to the new UEFA Youth League campaign. The eighteen-year-old Dutchman was decisive in the group match against Paris Saint-Germain by beautifully scoring the only goal of the match after half an hour: 0-1. It was Rijkhoff’s 55th goal for the youth team BVB in 69 matches.
Particularities:
Rijkhoff became the celebrated man at Dortmund by scoring the winning goal with half an hour left. Cole Campbell played it in with a subtle foot movement, after which Rijkhoff lifted the ball and then suddenly found the bottom left corner out of the air. PSG eventually ended the game with ten men after Nhaga Serif ran into his second card just before the final whistle.
