Mart Remans may have scored the best goal this season in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. The midfielder of MVV Maastricht hit from sixty meters and helped his team to a surprising 1-3 victory at De Graafschap. FC Volendam seems to have lost it quite a bit, but managed to save a point against ADO Den Haag in the last seconds: 1-1. The number two in the competition was lucky that pursuer Excelsior (1-1 against TOP Oss) did not win either. This also applies to the two teams that immediately follow: Sontje Hansen shot number five Jong Ajax beautifully to 2-2 against number four FC Eindhoven. Leader FC Emmen can become the big winner of the weekend by winning at VVV-Venlo on Saturday.

County – MVV Maastricht 1-3
After the resignation of Reinier Robbemond, Jan Vreman was on the bench at De Graafschap as an interim coach. In the stands was Adrie Poldervaart, who is strongly linked to an employment contract at De Vijverberg. Toshio Lake made a positive impact on the field by skilfully lifting over Hidde Jurjus early in the game: 0-1. De Graafschap answered directly via Philip Brittijn, who fired a furious one minute later: 1-1.

After half an hour of play, Lake again took the lead by attempting to score a penalty with a schwalbe. The act, however, was performed dramatically and earned Lake scorn and a yellow card. The absolute highlight of the evening followed in the 56th minute: Mart Remans saw Jurjus standing far in front of his goal and fired a phenomenal shot from his own half: 1-2. The decision was made by Sven Blummel, who shot in beautifully from the edge of the penalty area: 1-3.

Young Ajax – FC Eindhoven 2-2
Young Ajax did not start the match well with Mohamed Daramy and Danilo in the base. The defense was knocked down early in the game by Joey Sleegers, who was able to continue from midfield after a cross. The star player from Eindhoven finished it simply after passing Setford: 0-1. Young Ajax then started to play a little better and earned a penalty just before half-time, when Danilo was tapped during a capping movement. The Brazilian scored the penalty himself: 1-1. A free kick by Sleegers to the head at Van de Sande gave Eindhoven the lead again immediately after the break: 1-2. Young Ajax started full and returned in a wonderful way ten minutes before the end. Sontje Hansen dribbled in over the right flank and turned the ball perfectly into the far corner: 2-2.

Young PSV – Roda JC Kerkrade 3-3
There is certainly no shortage of goals on Friday evening at De Herdgang. Dylan Vente opened the ball in the eighth minute by shooting in from a corner and saw how Ismael Saibari equalized a minute later with a wonderful long shot: 1-1. A goalkeeper error by Kjell Peersman, who let an apparently easy ball slip, gave Bryan Limbombe a score within half an hour: 1-2. Young PSV showed resilience again: Fredrik Oppegard made it to the back line and crossed Johan Bakayoko: 2-2. Saibari again showed he had a great shot and put Jong PSV at 3-2 before half time. The Eindhoven promises could not enjoy this for long: Stefano Marzo shot in from a passed corner in the 54th minute: 3-3.

ADO The Hague – FC Volendam 1-1
Volendam relinquished the lead with a dramatic run and did not come out strong in The Hague either. The home side pushed hard, especially after the break. Thomas Verheydt and Sem Steijn squandered excellent shooting opportunities, but ten minutes before the end Samy Bourard still hit the mark. Thanks to a wonderful transfer from Steijn, the Belgian had a free shooting chance of fifteen meters: 1-0. To the delight of the fans, Daryl Janmaat made his comeback at ADO after two months as a substitute. Verheydt headed an almost unmissable opportunity on the post in injury time. Out of nowhere, Volendam countered to 1-1 in the final seconds via defender Damon Mirani, who had walked forward and was able to head in from close range.

Helmond Sport – NAC Breda 4-0
Odysseus Velanas got a double mega chance in the opening phase, with the NAC midfielder firing twice straight at Mike Havekotte. Helmond struck twice from a quick breakout just before half time, which were finished by Thomas Beekman and Dylan Seys: 2-0. Helmond took advantage of miscommunication at NAC immediately after the break, so that a low cross could easily be typed in by Boyd Reith: 3-0. Things got even worse for the Breda team when Jellert van Landschoot skilfully cut out his opponents in the penalty area and scored beautifully: 4-0.

Almere City FC – FC Den Bosch 2-0
The eager Ilias Alhaft provided an excellent start for the home team against the visitors from Den Bosch. The right-footed wing attacker moved in and shot flawlessly into the short corner: 1-0. The outstanding Alhaft could have doubled the score after half an hour of play, after good preparatory work by Jeffry Puriel. However, his shot was blocked in time by the Den Bosch defense. Maarten Pouwels was accurate three minutes later when he outwitted goalkeeper Wouter van der Steen: 2-0, hanging in the air. After the break, Soufyan Ahannach shot over in a promising position on behalf of Den Bosch, which, despite the efforts, did not return to the game in Almere.

Young Utrecht – Young AZ 0-1
The AZ U23 team broke the spell in the 26th minute, after an initial phase with opportunities on both sides. It was right back Robin Lathouwers who tapped in a measured cross from left back Milos Kerkez: 0-1. Center defender Finn Stam also made his first minutes of play on behalf of Jong AZ in professional football. The visitors took the break with the minimal lead and made no less than three changes halfway through. AZ’s promises were still good ten minutes after the break, when Derensili Sanches Fernandes missed a great opportunity at the far post. Nevertheless, the win was for the middle engine from the Kitchen Champion Division.

Telstar – FC Dordrecht 1-0
The hero role in Velsen-Zuid was for Glynor Plet on Friday evening. The attacker, like his Telstar teammates, was very unproductive throughout the match against Dordrecht, but in the 75th minute it was finally hit. A handsome header from the tree-long striker disappeared through the post into the goal of The Sheepheads: 1-0. Giovanni hired from Ajax went looking for Telstar’s second goal in the 85th minute, but the substitute’s shot was no problem for goalkeeper Liam Bossin. Dordrecht was actually the underlying party all evening and the defeat should have been much bigger.
