Mohammed Kudus will make his return to Jong Ajax tonight after a months-long absence. The Ghanaian midfielder is in the starting lineup against Almere City. Kudus has not played this season due to an injury. He makes his first minutes in the Kitchen Champion Division.

Kudus made the switch from FC Nordsjaelland to Ajax in the summer of 2020. The Ghanaian impressed and quickly conquered a starting place in Erik ten Hag’s team. He was sidelined for months due to a knee injury sustained in the Champions League game against Liverpool. Last season he fought back, but had to settle for a supporting role.

In preparation for this season, Kudus was injured again. In the friendly match against Anderlecht he dropped out with an injury to his ankle. That injury has kept him sidelined for the past few months. He worked hard on his recovery and is now on his way back, as evidenced by his starting position as an attacking midfielder in the team of coach John Heitinga.
