Atalanta booked a minimal victory over Empoli on Friday evening: 2-1. After an opening goal by Tyronne Ebuehi from Haarlem, it was Marten de Roon who scored the equalizer with a nice header. The team of coach Gian Piero Gasperini then managed to add three points via Rasmus Hojlund in the final phase. As a result, Atalanta remains fully in the race for European football.
Particularities:
Both teams started on Friday-evening with a Dutchman in the starting eleven. De Roon was allowed to take office as an inspector for the home team, while Teun Koopmeiners (muscle injury) and Hans Hateboer (knee injury) are still out of circulation. On behalf of the away team, Ebuehi played as a right back. The former defender of ADO Den Haag and FC Twente even opened the score just before half-time by tapping in from close range after a cross from Francesco Caputo: 1-0. After 58 minutes, De Roon personally tied the score. After a spooned cross from Matteo Ruggeri, the Zwijndrechter towered over his opponent to outwit goalkeeper Samuele Perisan: 1-1. In the final phase, top talent Rasmus Hojlund made the winning goal via a fumble goal: 2-1
