Chelsea is in talks with West Ham United about Kurt Zouma, various media in England report. According to Sky Sports and the Daily Mail West Ham is willing to pay an amount of 20 million pounds, converted 23.5 million euros. However, Zouma is credited with a higher transfer value by Chelsea, making it unlikely that the Blues will accept the town’s offer.

The 26-year-old Zouma has a contract with Chelsea until mid-2023, but it is questionable whether he has a future at Stamford Bridge. Since trainer Thomas Tuchel was appointed in January, Zouma has only appeared in 13 official games; Antonio Rüdiger is higher in Tuchel’s pecking order. Zouma was acquired by Chelsea from Saint-Étienne in January 2014 for a fee of €14.6 million. He was loaned out to Stoke City and Everton in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons respectively and played a total of 99 Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports Zouma feels at home in London and therefore sees a move to West Ham. On Wednesday, journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Chelsea is thinking of using Zouma to bring Jules Koundé to London: the club would have offered Sevilla an amount of 30 to 35 million euros, plus the services of the Frenchman. On Thursday, Romano added that Sevilla is betting on more than 35 million euros, even if Zouma were part of the deal.
