The top match between Feyenoord and PSV will be refereed by Danny Makkelie next Sunday. The Rotterdam leader will then receive the number three from Eindhoven in its own Kuip. Earlier this season, Makkelie already whistled another top poster. He then led the match between Ajax and PSV in the Johan Cruijff ArenA (1-2) in the right direction. The game between Feyenoord and PSV on Sunday starts at 2:30 PM.

The number one of the KNVB is assisted in De Kuip by his assistants Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries and fourth official Joey Kooij. Dennis Higler is the VAR on duty. The previous edition of the top poster in Rotterdam, played on May 8, 2022, ended in 2-2. At the time there was a lot to do about the performance of referee Serdar Gözübüyük, who awarded a controversial penalty to Feyenoord after hands from Mauro Júnior. Deep in stoppage time, Cyriel Dessers equalized and scored his second goal of the afternoon, after he had already scored 1-2 five minutes before the end.

The team from Rotterdam collected 42 points from 19 matches this season and the difference with PSV is four points. Feyenoord can present excellent figures at home against the Eindhoven team. Feyenoord won seven of the last ten meetings in De Kuip. PSV took the full spoils twice and once, so last year, the points were shared

The referees are also known for the other clubs in the top five. Martin Pérez can whistle FC Volendam – AZ on Saturday. On Sunday afternoon Martin van den Kerkhof handles the whistle in Leeuwarden at SC Cambuur – Ajax. The plagued FC Groningen will play at home against FC Twente on Sunday and that game will be refereed by Pol van Boekel.
