OGC Nice has not made an offer for Mohamed Ihattaren, Rik Elfrink reported on Twitter on Wednesday evening. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder was spotted at the French club’s training complex earlier this week, while according to the official reading he is currently ill. According to the PSV watcher of the Eindhovens Dagblad Ihattaren reports back to the Eindhoven team’s training field as soon as he is better.

Ihattaren has been missing from PSV since Sunday, when he called in sick for training. A day later, he did not travel with the selection to Istanbul for the return of the second qualifying round of the Champions League against Galatasaray, which was won 1-2 on Wednesday evening. He was on the reserve bench for ninety minutes during the first game that he won 5-1 in the Philips Stadium.

“He is not here now. I think he is sick. The doctors have told me that. But I now have no room to talk about players who are not there,” said PSV coach Roger Schmidt before the game between Galatasaray and PSV for the camera of RTL7. Despite the fact that Ihattaren is ill according to the official reading, he was photographed on Tuesday with Myron Boadu and their agent Mino Raiola at the training complex of OGC Nice.

Ihattaren is now back in the Netherlands, Elfrink reports. “There is no offer from OGC Nice for Mohamed Ihattaren. He is now back in the Netherlands. If he is better, he will report back to PSV training,” Elfrink wrote on Twitter. Ihattaren apparently started preparing for the new season, but does not seem to have to count on a basic place under trainer Roger Schmidt for the time being. It Eindhovens Dagblad PSV previously reported that, partly due to its contract that continues until mid-2022, PSV will be flexible if an interested club comes forward.
