The air between Mauro Icardi and his wife Wanda Nara seems remarkably clear. The Paris Saint-Germain striker posted an emotional message to his wife on Instagram on Tuesday evening – shortly after the Champions League match against RB Leipzig that he missed. “Thank you, my dear, for continuing to trust this beautiful family, thank you for being the engine of our lives,” Icardi wrote.
With that, the soap that started on Saturday seems to have a striking end. “Another family you destroyed for a slut!” Nara wrote in a post on her Instagram Stories last weekend. The couple has been married since 2014. Nara was previously married to Maxi López, Icardi’s teammate at Sampdoria, until her relationship with Icardi came to light. Nara, who also acted as Icardi’s agent, no longer followed her husband on social media.
Icardi published a photo on Sunday in which he can be seen in Milan with Nara, who was still wearing a ring on her finger. He added three hearts to the publication. Nara responded on her own account by sharing a photo of her own hand, this time without a ring: “I like my hand better without a ring,” Nara captioned it. Argentine media were convinced that things would not work out between Icardi and Nara. In recent days, Icardi received permission to travel to his wife in Milan. The striker dropped Sunday and Monday training sessions in an attempt to save his marriage and ultimately found himself unable to play in the PSG vs RB Leipzig game, which ended 3-2 on Tuesday evening.
Judging by the Instagram post that Icardi posts on Tuesday evening, his marriage seems to have been saved. “Thank you, my love, for continuing to trust in this beautiful family, thank you for being the engine of our lives. I love you. Look how much it hurts when you hurt the one you love. You feel only be well again when those who hurt you forgive you,” writes Icardi with a photo, which shows him together with Nara.
