Milan van Ewijk is coveted by various clubs from home and abroad and the right back of sc Heerenveen is aware of this. However, he doesn’t let it affect his game and mainly wonders whether he can simply tap the level again after a possible step up. He already succeeded in that in Friesland and at ADO Den Haag.

Van Ewijk was in Feyenoord’s youth academy, but was sent away. Via Excelsior Maassluis he eventually ended up in professional football, at ADO Den Haag. At the Residentieclub he earned a transfer to Heerenveen and he could easily do that too. “Do you know what I’m very curious about?”, Van Ewijk asks the interviewer of Football International. “How I would relate if I played at Ajax, Feyenoord or PSV. Or in a major foreign competition.”

It certainly does not mean that the attacking right wing defender necessarily wants to leave the Abe Lenstra Stadium. Van Ewijk wants to quickly clear up that misunderstanding. “It’s not that I’m not doing well at SC Heerenveen, but in recent years I have always adapted to a higher level without much effort. I am very curious to what level I can continue to do that, where my ceiling is. “

There is interest from PSV, Feyenoord, Celtic and Lille. VI know that Van Ewijk is on the scouting lists there. “I know that Feyenoord, PSV and a few foreign clubs follow me. That is of course very cool. It does not affect me much, I just play my matches and make sure I perform as well as possible. If a club wants to get me , then I will hear it automatically. In any case, it does not distract me in any way. I am extremely driven to succeed, to reach my ceiling.”
