Steven Bergwijn laughs from ear to ear after the 2-4 victory at sc Heerenveen. Ajax’s wing striker scored an Eredivisie goal again for the first time since November 12 and in any case asserted himself as one of the most dangerous players on the Amsterdam side. Moments later, Bergwijn got the audience on the benches again. He soloed past some opponents and unleashed a flaming shot on the post. “That was certainly a nice action. I could cry when he hit the post,” said Bergwijn, still with a broad smile on his face.
Finally, Bergwijn takes away fears about a possible injury. After 65 minutes he was already replaced by Brian Brobbey and not much later he was spotted with a bandage around his knee. “I’m definitely there in De Classic”, he reassures the fans. The Classic is scheduled for next weekend and can mean a tipping point in the title fight. Ajax and Feyenoord are currently tied in points, although the team from Rotterdam will play against FC Volendam later in the day.
