Justin Kluivert hopes to develop further as a football player at OGC Nice. The attacker will be rented from AS Roma next season, with an option to buy ten million euros, after he was already stabled at RB Leipzig last season. In conversation with Football International tells Kluivert that he cherishes the experiences he gains abroad. He learns a lot from the games against the world’s biggest clubs and watches closely the play of other attackers.

“When we recently played against Liverpool in the Champions League, I paid a lot of attention to Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah,” says Kluivert, referring to the eight-final matches between Leipzig and Liverpool in March (0-2 and 2-0 defeat). “Their eagerness and feeling for the goal, that is very inspiring. Salah’s running actions, I can learn a lot from that. He is so often alone in front of the keeper by pulling one smart sprint. I then try to take over, because That is of course the level I aspire to.”

Kluivert continuously tries to learn from other players. As a kid, for example, he looked at Ronaldinho. “I will never become that technical, but everyone on the street copied the tricks he did. I still do that,” said the 22-year-old winger. “Now I watch a lot of Tottenham Hotspur’s Heung-Min Son, he is very fast and very effective. And he is two-legged! I’m working hard on that myself, my left leg is getting better, I can’t complain. is no longer a chocolate bone.”

Kluivert received a signal from Jose Mourinho two weeks ago that he could leave Roma. The former Ajax player was not included by the trainer in the 27-man selection of Roma for the preparation for the new season. Kluivert will be a teammate of Calvin Stengs in Nice, who recently completed his transfer from AZ to Nice. The pair played together in the Dutch Juniors at the European Under-21 Championship in June. Kluivert also meets Kasper Dolberg at Nice, with whom he played two seasons at Ajax. On Saturday, the Dutchman was not yet part of the selection for the exhibition game with Union Berlin (1-0 defeat).
