German national coach Hansi Flick takes top talent Youssoufa Moukoko to the World Cup in Qatar. The teenager from Borussia Dortmund, who has not yet won a single international match, is one of the 26 names chosen. Ex-PSV player Mario Götze is also part of the German World Cup selection.

Moukoko has so far only played for Young Germany, where he made six goals in five matches. Because Timo Werner (RB Leipzig) and Lukas Nmecha (VfL Wolfsburg) both miss their World Cup due to injuries, Flick ended up with the young attacker of Borussia Dortmund. Also BVB-player Marco Reus misses the World Cup due to an injury.

In addition to Moukoko, who becomes the youngest German player ever at a World Cup during playing minutes in Qatar, Flick includes another inexperienced striker in his World Cup selection. The 29-year-old Niclas Füllkrug from Werder Bemen can prepare for his debut for Die Mannschaft. Ex-PSV player Götze is also present at the World Cup. The scorer of the only goal in the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina played his last international match for the Germans on November 14, 2017.
