Feyenoord has already made the first offer for Ramiz Zerrouki, as you know The Telegraph report on Tuesday evening. The team from Rotterdam would like to bring the 24-year-old midfielder of FC Twente to De Kuip as a possible replacement for Fredrik Aursnes, who is in the interest of Benfica. Feyenoord would have offered five million euros for the Algerian international, according to the newspaper.

A week and a half ago it became clear that Aursnes is well on his way to Benfica. Roger Schmidt’s Portuguese club would be willing to pay 15 million euros for the Norwegian midfielder, according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano. This amount can reportedly increase even further through bonuses. Aursnes is still at Feyenoord until mid-2024, but according to Romano, he would already have a personal agreement. In the friendly match against Osasuna (1-2 loss) on Sunday, Aursnes made an absent impression. The Rotterdammers seem to be already working on a replacement for Zerrouki through the offer for Zerrouki.

Zerrouki himself would like to make the switch to Feyenoord. However, technical director Jan Streuer previously indicated that Twente will not simply cooperate in a transfer. “We will hear Feyenoord’s story, but we are not interested in a sale. We want to keep our team together,” said Streuer. Zerrouki is still in Enschede until mid-2024, so Twente can easily keep him to his contract.

Zerrouki played a few years in the youth at Ajax, after which he left for Twente. There, the midfielder was able to break through in the main force in the 2020/21 season. Zerrouki has already played 67 official matches for Twente, in which he was good for four goals and three assists. Especially under Ron Jans, Zerrouki blossomed into an important player for Twente. He has been international for Algeria since March 2021. Zerrouki scored one goal in sixteen international matches.
