Feyenoord is expanding the goalkeepers’ guild with Valentin Cojocaru, it reports General Newspaper Thursday night. The 1.95 meter long goalkeeper comes from SK Dnipro from the Ukrainian league. Due to the situation in Ukraine, players can leave their club on a free transfer. Feyenoord was looking for a new goalkeeper because Justin Bijlow has to miss the rest of the season due to a foot injury.

The Romanian Cojocaru is 26 years old and comes from the youth academy of Steaua Bucharest. He was under contract with that club until 2017, although the keeper was also rented out to Crotone and Frosinone. He never played for those two Italian clubs; for Steaua he played nineteen league matches. Between 2018 and 2021, Cojocaru played a total of 72 league matches for Viitorul Constanta, who also loaned him out to Voluntari for half a season in 2020/21. He has been active at Dnipro since the summer of last year.
