Fenerbahçe has qualified for the play-offs of the Europa League. The Turks drew 1-1 against FC Slovácko from the Czech Republic on hostile ground and that was enough to continue after last week’s big win at home.

Won last week fener easily in the own Sükrü Saracoglu stadium. With goals from Lincoln Henrique (two) and Emre Mor, the formation of trainer Jorge Jesus took a 3-0 victory to the return and that meant that the Portuguese could line up a number of other names for that return game. For example, both goalscorers of the first leg were on the bench and Ferdi Kadioglu was also not at the kick-off. Former PSV player Bruma was one of the first eleven players on the match sheet.

He saw how the Turks took it easy and didn’t have to make an effort to keep Slovácko away. The first half ended as it started and after the break Fenerbahçe even took the lead. Serdar Dursun provided the final blow for the Czechs by scoring the 0-1 and the equalizer, which fell two minutes later at the hands of Ondrej Sasinka, could not change that.

The men of Jesus took the victory without any problems and can now prepare for the play-offs of the Europa League. In it, it will play against Austria’s Austria Wien, which was already qualified for the play-offs and therefore did not play any previous preliminary rounds. If Fenerbahçe loses that diptych, it will end up in the group stage of the Conference League and so the Turkish top club is already certain of participating in a continental tournament.
