Jurgen Ekkelenkamp will continue his career at Royal Antwerp. That reports The newspapaer. Belgian media assured on Thursday morning that the Hertha BSC midfielder had chosen Club Brugge. Club Brugge reached an agreement in principle with Hertha on a transfer fee of 4.5 million euros. Ekkelenkamp still had a contract in Berlin until mid-2025, but was not assured of his place. The right leg has so far played 22 official games for Hertha, in which he was accurate three times. The midfielder is seen in Belgium as the ideal successor to Charles De Ketelaere, who completed his long-awaited transfer to AC Milan this week.

The debut season in the Bundesliga was not a resounding success for Ekkelenkamp. The midfielder came to 22 official games. Fifteen times he was brought in as a substitute. He was good for three goals. Last summer Ajax had three million euros left over from the sale of Ekkelenkamp. The former youth international of the Dutch comes from the youth academy of the Amsterdammers, where he was known as a great talent. However, he never reached maturity in the first team.
