It seems that Dele Alli is about to leave for the Besiktas. According to The Athletic does the Turkish club want to take over the 26-year-old midfielder from Everton, and let the Toffees the choice is alli’s own. Several Turkish media even report that an agreement has already been reached between Everton and Besiktas. This would be a lease with an option to buy.

Alli was taken over from Tottenham Hotspur in January this year. He signed a contract with coach Frank Lampard’s club until mid-2024, but his first half year was not very successful. In the Premier League he mainly had to make do with substitutions; Only once did the 37-time England international (three goals) start in the second half of the competition, while he was allowed to enter the field ten times as a substitute. This season, Alli has played in both competition matches so far, but he also had to do it with a substitute. He did not score for Everton yet.

According to The Athletic Alli is now thinking about making the move to Besiktas. The Turkish club, which is in sixth place in the Süper Lig with four points from two matches, strengthened itself earlier this summer with, among others, Wout Weghorst. The Dutch striker is rented from Burnley, which relegated from the Premier League last season. In both Süper Lig matches Besiktas played so far this season, Weghorst played the full ninety minutes.

Alli was acquired by Tottenham Hotspur from MK Dons in 2015. Bee the Spurs he scored 67 goals in 269 official matches. In his first seasons in particular, he was a permanent force in midfield under coach Mauricio Pochettino. After his resignation at the end of 2019, Alli had to do it more and more with substitutions at the London club. That also seems to have influenced his international career, as Alli has not played an international game since 2019.
