Como continues to try to tie Raphaël Varane to them. The Serie A promoted team, where Cesc Fàbregas is at the helm, have been in negotiations with the free agent Frenchman for some time, who has not yet made a final decision on his future.

Fabrizio Romano reported at the end of June that Varane is considered Como's dream target. The Italian wrote that signing the Frenchman was certainly not a done deal given the interest in him.

Como is still negotiating with Varane, who is also attracting interest from AS Roma and clubs from Major League Soccer and Saudi Pro League. Como remains hopeful and hopes that Fàbregas, among others, can convince him.

That the interest is mutual was already apparent at the end of June. Varane then travelled to Italy to hold talks with the club management and Fàbregas. The club is now awaiting an answer from Varane, who has not yet made any decisions.

Como has ambitions and has already struck on the transfer market several times. For example, 4.5 million euros was paid to AS Roma for former Serie A top scorer Andrea Belotti. In addition, Alberto Dossena was acquired from Cagliari for eight million euros and the club transferred five million euros to Lecce for Gabriel Strefezza.

Matthias Braunöder, Ben Koné, Marco Curto and Peter Kovacik have also been signed and according to Gianluca Di Marzio on Monday, Pau López, goalkeeper of Olympique Marseille, will be added. The Spaniard must be rented with a purchase obligation, which will come into effect if Como manages to maintain itself next season.

In addition, the club wants to strengthen itself with Rodri Sánchez from Real Betis. The Andalusians only want to sell for the time being, for six million euros, while Como is thinking about a rental deal.
