Bayern Munich already knows how it wants to fill the vacant positions of general manager and technical director. On Saturday, shortly after the championship was won in a dramatic way, it was announced that the record master immediately says goodbye to Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic and according to Sky Sports Germany and BILD a successor is ready for the latter. Christian Dreesen was already appointed as the new general manager on Saturday.

Max Eberl is in the picture for the technical position. The former Bayern player is currently working as sporting director for RB Leipzig and in that capacity has also done a good job at Borussia Mönchengladbach for fourteen years. However, Eberl still has a contract with Leipzig that will run until mid-2026, so a switch must be negotiated. There was already contact between the two parties.

Meanwhile, Christian Dreesen has already been appointed as the new general manager. The 56-year-old German had been vice-chairman of the board of Bayern for ten years, has also acted as financial director in recent years and is now moving on. “I want to thank the Supervisory Board for the trust it has given me,” Dreesen responds on the club site. “I actually wanted to do something else, but when Bayern call you, you leave everything else behind. It means a lot to me.”

Kahn had been Bayern general manager since mid-2021, while Salihamidžic had held the position of technical director since mid-2020. It was an extremely restless season at the club, as trainer Julian Nagelsmann was fired quite suddenly in March. Under his successor Thomas Tuchel, Bayern was eliminated from the Champions League and DFB-Pokal, but the Bundesliga was eventually won.
