Anthony Martial caused controversy at a Manchester United training session last week. The attacker got into trouble with youth player Dan Gore, who received the full blow after a hard tackle. The Guardian writes that manager Erik ten Hag had to prevent further escalation and that Martial has since apologized.

In last Wednesday’s training, Gore would have used a hard tackle on the French attacker. Martial was absolutely not served by the way the eighteen-year-old midfielder entered the game and he became furious. The duo then had to be separated to prevent the argument from getting out of hand. In the end, the collision fizzled out and Martial decided to apologize for his violent reaction towards Gore.

Ten Hag did take the opportunity to address the midfielder who came over from Burnley after his tackle on Martial. According to reports, the manager made it clear to Gore that “hard tackles on first-team players are undesirable” because of the risk of injury.

Martial is undoubtedly having a rough few weeks in Manchester. The attacker is one of the few players from the selection of the Red Devils who has not been called up to travel to the World Cup with the national team. Martial got some hope of participating when it was announced that Christopher Nkunku and Karim Benzema had to drop out injured, but national coach Didier Deschamps decided to only call up Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as a replacement.
