Alfred Schreuder has announced the line-up of Ajax for the first competition match against Fortuna Sittard. Jay Gorter has to make way for Remko Pasveer in goal. In contrast to the duel for the Johan Cruijff Scale, Ajax’s position has been changed in two positions. Daley Blind takes the place of suspended Edson Álvarez in midfield and is replaced in the center by Perr Schuurs. The match in Limburg starts at 4.30 pm and is led by referee Serdar Gözübüyük.
Schreuder therefore has faith in the names that also appeared at the kick-off last weekend and only chooses to victimize Gorter. The goalkeeper made a few flashy mistakes against PSV and, as expected, his place under the bar is taken by Pasveer. Schreuder indicated after the lost Johan Cruijff Scale that the blunders did not cost Gorter his head. Against Fortuna, however, he chooses Pasveer.
The rear guard changes in one position. The flanks are covered by Devyne Rensch and Owen Wijndal. Perr Schuurs and Jurriën Timber form the heart of the defence, as a result of which Blind moves forward and replaces Álvarez. There is again no place for Mohammed Kudus in midfield. The Ghanaian scored nicely against PSV, but does not yet get the full confidence of Schreuder. In addition to Álvarez, Calvin Bassey is also suspended, Steven Bergwijn and Wijndal make their competition debut.
