The battle for David Alaba’s signature is in full swing. Among other BILD brings out on Tuesday afternoon that Paris Saint-Germain is going to fight Real Madrid for the Austrian defender of Bayern Munich. Alaba announced last Tuesday that he has definitely chosen to leave last year’s Champions League winner after this season on a free transfer.

BILD and Sky Deutschland report Tuesday that Alaba has already had an initial meeting with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the chairman and owner of PSG, to discuss a possible deal for the 28-year-old defender. A first concrete offer would even have been put on the table. Al-Khelaifi wanted to know during the interview with the Bayern stopper how he views a possible move to the French superpower. For the time being, Alaba seems to have a preference for a follow-up at Real, although despite stories in the Spanish media about a lucrative four-year contract, no agreement has yet been reached with the Royal.

In addition to Real and PSG, Alaba has also been mentioned in recent weeks as a possible summer addition to Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona. “I have decided to leave Bayern after this season to try something new,” Alaba told an official press moment last week. “It was by no means an easy decision. I walked thirteen at the club and I owe a lot to Bayern Munich.” Bayern already pre-arranged the defender’s departure and took over Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig. The Frenchman is seen at Bayern as the future successor to Alaba.

In recent years, Alaba has become a figurehead of the extremely successful Bayern. After a rental period at TSG Hoffenheim, he played himself in the base in the main force of the German top club, with 416 duels in all competitions to his name. In addition to the Champions League twice, also in 2013, Alaba won nine German league titles and six national cups in Munich. Recently, the defender also won the World Cup for club teams. The center-back will resume the billion-dollar ball on Tuesday-evening with an away game against Lazio in the second round.
