Matthijs de Ligt and Ryan Gravenberch are again substitutes at Bayern Munich against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon, according to the line-up that Julian Nagelsmann has formed. The German trainer chooses not to change his team, after the fantastic 1-6 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt last week. At Wolfsburg, Dutchman Micky van de Ven will start in the base.

Neuer will be under the bar at Bayern for the 475th time on Sunday. At right back, Benjamin Pavard is again preferred over Noussair Mazraoui, who has had to make do with two short substitutions so far. In the center back Nagelsmann again opts for the French duo Dayot Upamecano and Lucas Hernández, while Alphonso Davies can cover the left wing. Matthijs de Ligt therefore starts again on the bench.

In the midfield, Joshua Kimmich and Marcel Sabitzer form the controlling block. Thomas Müller and Jamal Musiala are the most offensive midfielders. Where it was previously thought in Germany that Ryan Gravenberch would get the chance because of Leon Goretzka’s injury, Nagelsmann seems to prefer to opt for experience with Sabitzer. Serge Gnabry and Sadio Mané complete the squad of Der Rekordmeister in the forefront.

At Wolfsburg, trainer Niko Kovac again gives Micky van de Ven the chance. The left-footed defender now appears to be a starter, having played just five official games for Wolfsburg in a difficult debut season. Van De Ven plays at Wolfsburg as a left back, while at FC Volendam he mainly played as a central defender. Kovac won the double with Bayern in the 2018/19 season.
