Aaron Ramsey will play for OGC Nice for the next three seasons, the club reported via official channels on Monday evening. The 31-year-old midfielder from Wales had his contract terminated at Juventus less than a week ago. After receiving a ‘smooth up premium’ of about three million euros in Turin, Ramsey has already found a new challenge. Nice is the sixth club for which Ramsey will play.

At the ambitious Nice, Ramsey hopes to rediscover his joy in football in the coming years. Last season, Nice finished fifth in Ligue 1 led by Christophe Galtier, who left for Paris Saint-Germain. Lucien Favre is his successor in the coming season. Favre previously coached the club, but left for Borussia Dortmund in 2018. Nice also hopes to add Kasper Schmeichel to the selection this week as the successor to Walter Benítez who left for PSV. With Ramsey and Schmeichel, the club takes home a huge number of Premier League matches.

Actually, Ramsey was still attached to Juventus until mid-2023, but Massimiliano Allegri saw the midfielder as unnecessary. At the Italian club, the right leg rarely managed to reach his level. Ramsey also often suffered from minor injuries. In total he played 69 official games for the club. In it, Ramsey scored six times and provided six assists. In the past season, Ramsey was loaned to Rangers for six months, but he could not really convince in Scotland either. In total he only came into action for 632 minutes for the club of coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Ramsey had his most successful period as a footballer with Arsenal. Between 2010 and 2019 he played 371 times for the club. In it, Ramsey scored 65 times and provided 65 assists. Ramsey won the FA Cup three times with the Londoners. In addition, the right leg is 74 times international for Wales. So far he has scored twenty international goals. Ramsey’s current transfer value will be increased by Transfermarkt.com valued at three million euros.
